Plant Based World Expo North America 2025: A Delicious Glimpse into the Future of Plant-Based Food
On December 2–3, 2025, the Javits Center in New York City turned into a plant-based paradise as it hosted the Plant Based World Expo North America. For two days, the space buzzed with innovative energy as brands from around the world gathered to showcase the future of plant-based eating. Although the expo was relatively small, it made a big impression — especially with the number of exciting new brands stepping into the spotlight.
Of course, familiar favorites like Oatly and Impossible Burger were present, offering a comforting sense of recognition. But what truly stood out was the wave of lesser-known brands — many of which you won’t find on grocery store shelves yet and are currently serving only restaurants and select businesses.

One of the biggest highlights for me was Fabalish Foods, a brand that uses aquafaba (chickpea water) as the base for its products. Their lineup of plant-based sauces and dips was exceptional — including a rich vegan mayo, refreshing tzatziki, and an aromatic basil aioli. Smooth, flavorful, and incredibly versatile, their products felt like a game-changer for both home cooks and chefs. ( visit their website www.fabalish.com to learn more).

Another standout was Bettani, a plant-based cheese brand offering seriously impressive texture and stretch. If you’ve been on the hunt for a vegan cheese that truly melts and satisfies, Bettani is one to watch.
I was also excited to discover Dahab Toum, a new brand producing organic Mediterranean-style dips. Creamy, garlicky, and bold, their products brought a beautiful depth of flavor to the expo. Dahab is a family based company, located in Brooklyn NY, that launched just few days ago.

Natural Heaven is a brand from Ecuador , making rice and pasta. During the expo they introduced a new products, like their Cheapskate and other plant-based alternatives made from beets and hearts of palm — surprisingly realistic, delicious, and made with clean, simple ingredients.

Other exciting finds included:
- Vegan Cuts, offering a carefully curated plant-based subscription box. Vegan Cuts is designed for discovering new and exciting plant-based products each month. It’s a great option for anyone who loves trying emerging vegan brands without having to hunt for them in stores. From snacks and sweets to pantry staples and innovative alternatives, their box feels like a fun (and delicious) way to stay connected with the ever-evolving plant-based market — especially if you enjoy surprises and supporting small, up-and-coming companies.

- Only 4 Chocolates, a decadent vegan chocolate brand from Brazil.

- Innovative vegan shrimp alternatives that delivered on both texture and taste.
Even though the expo was smaller than expected, it was thoughtfully curated and packed with high-quality, forward-thinking brands. It was a reminder of how quickly the plant-based world continues to grow and evolve.
If you missed this year’s event, don’t worry — the next Plant Based World Expo North America is expected to take place in 2026. Be sure to keep an eye on the official website for future dates and updates.
One thing is certain: the future of plant-based food is bright — and incredibly delicious.
