Namaste Products Review and Giveaway!

Before you read my review I want to let you know, that even though I didn’t get great results, Namaste Foods still let me run a giveaway. Mary who is in touch with me, also emailed me  “We need all reviews, all comments about our products so that we can improve what we manufacture and maybe help someone who is new to this whole world with tips, ideas, comments, etc. “I want to thank them for this fine gesture. Mary is so nice and she is trying very hard to find out what was a cause of unsuccessful results of my baking. Since I make every dish vegan way, and often need to substitute eggs, it is harder for great results, especially when the product is gluten free. In my case the problem could be egg replacer I used, but also there is possibility my oven is not working right. I will be trying to bake Namaste Foods Mixes again.

Now, shell we…….

I always like to try out gluten free mixes and make them work as vegan as well. I was excited when Namaste Foods send me their products: GF Bread Mix, GF Blondie Mix and GF Pizza Crust Mix. I was hoping for the best. They also added the tot that I love and coupons and recipes. (This and more can be yours, when you enter a giveaway!)

Namaste Foods is manufacturer of foods that contain no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, casein, peanuts or tree nuts. It is in business since 2000. The web site informs, the company doesn’t use GMO-Ingredients, as well as preservative. Namaste Foods offer variety of Gluten Free products (often vegan friendly) from baking mixes, cakes, cookies to breads, pizza, also pastas dishes and soups.

Vegan Gluten Free Heaven

Bread Mix– I can’t say too much. I wasn’t lucky with it. I was trying to make vegan, gluten free bread. I had to use egg substitute for eggs. Since  I have found on the Namaste Foods web site in Q&A section this info: “Our customers have found that adding the dry egg replacer directly to the dry mix without reconstituting, then following the package instructions works best.” – I decided to follow those instructions. I wasn’t lucky. The bread came out like a slack-baked cake, raw inside. It was really long in the oven and when it cool of it become hard. Not possible to even cut it.

Blondie Mix– Again I was trying to make it without egg. I used Ener-G egg replacer. The cake came out soft, but hardly raised. It tastes ok but was little too sweet for me. No fluffiness, kind of gooey texture.

Pizza crust– The dough was in the oven longer than the time in the instruction. I loved the smell of the dough. It has many herbs. I am not sure why final pizza still looked like it should be more in the oven, even after doubled time.

Summing up my experience: I know that it takes method of trails and errors in order to make gluten free cake work with egg substitutes. It is not easy task. I do believe Namaste Foods has great mixes and I read many positive reviews about them. But mostly they were from non-vegan, so they didn’t have to worry about substituting eggs. I will try to bake mixes again and I will post the update, as soon as I have results.

  1. We’ve made Gluten free pizza with the pizza mix and it turned out great. Also I use the all purpose flour for bread making, cookies, wonton wrappers, and am also in the process of makeing sourdough starter for sourdough recipes.
    I love these products.
