Letters from Animals- Review

Have you ever wondered what message animals would like to convey if they could talk?
“Letters from Animals to those who think they’re just beasts” written by Frederic Brremaud is adapted from and inspired by the writings of Allain Bougrain- Dubourg.

It is a collection of messages from animals.
It contains short stories in comic form. The illustrator Giovanni Rigano did a phenomenal job with the art. The pictures are beautiful, colorful, and fun.

The book contains messages from animals small and big, from mammals and birds to megafauna. An author gave voice to the turtle, the greyhound, the tiger, the vulture, the rabbit, the shark, the ortolan bunting, the pig, the bull, the chick, the horse, the lab rat, the badger, the wolf, the dirt dwellers, and the gorilla.

Each animal tries to explain and show the point of their short talk. It explains why human actions are wrong. But animals also give credit to humanity when the credit is due. It is such a clever idea!
You will also find beautiful animal study sketches at the end of the book. And the last pages include an interview with Allain Bougrain Dubourg. There is also a section with information on how to help animals.
Author Frederic Brremaud created an extraordinary graphic novel with a very important message. We all should be more respectful of nature and animals. We all should remember that all living creatures have feelings, and a nervous system, so they can feel pain too. All creatures have the right to live. It is up to us if we can understand them and live in harmony together. Wouldn’t earth be a better place?

Ps. The print I received with a book is so gorgeous, I decided to frame it. It just speaks to me.

Thank you so much Magnetic Press for this wonderful review copy.
